December Ipsy Bag Review

December Ipsy Bag Review

Some of you may not know this but I am a makeup fanatic. I can spend hours a day watching makeup videos on youtube and learning new tips and tricks and hacks. My love of makeup led me to subscribe to a monthly beauty subscription. I know there are a ton out there but the one I went with is the Ipsy Glam Bag.

I have been receiving the Ipsy Glam Bag for just over a year now. It’s only $10 a month and when I originally subscribed to Ipsy, there was a waiting list. It took months to finally get through and start getting my Ipsy bags. Now, you can just go straight to their website (here) and sign up and subscribe. You take a quiz telling them about your beauty interests and each month they customize a bag to you.

I have to be honest, not every item in every bag each month is going to be amazing. I have gotten eyeshadows that may not be my favorite shade or blush that was the wrong color for my skintone and for me, that was okay for one reason. The reason is that I can leave a review so they know for next time what to change. THIS WORKS!!! I went through a period where I wasn’t loving my bags and I went back and reviewed all of the products I had been getting and now I love pretty much everything I get.

That’s just some background on Ipsy since I have never spoken about them on here before. That being said, Let’s go ahead and get into what all I got in my bag this month. I have linked everything that I got so just click on the pictures to learn more about the products and to buy anything that you particularly like. This post is not sponsored, none of these are affiliate links, I am just being helpful in case you see anything you like 🙂

TheBalm Mad Lash Mascara – Full Size $18

First up is a mascara from The Balm. In all honesty, I have such long and curly eyelashes that most mascaras work great for me. This one was no different. It made my lashes look long, bold, and voluminous. The brush is the curved kind, which I typically am not a fan of. That is just my personal preference. I don’t feel like it worked any differently because it was curved, I just like the uncurved kind better.

Tarte Maracuja Oil – Travel Size $15

Tarte is a brand that I have been really interested in trying out so I’m very thankful to Ipsy for this sample. This oil smells SO good. The packaging says you can use it on your face as a moisturizer or on your hair to moisturize it and tame flyaways and lay down your edges. Okay, it doesn’t actually use the word “edges” but I read in between the lines. Also, because it is so small it was perfect to take with me when I went to visit my parents for Christmas. I have oily skin so I didn’t like how it felt on my face but, babe tried it on her flyaways and it worked well for her. It might work better as a face oil for people with more dry skin.

MintPear Beauty Blending Sponge – $20

I must say, I have never heard of MintPear until this month’s Ipsy bag. I really needed a new beauty blending sponge because my last one was old and dirty so I threw it out. These are the best tools ever to put liquid foundation on with. I use the flat bottom part to do my foundation and the top part with the point to blend in my concealer. This is definitely a makeup essential.

Hanalei Lip Treatment – $20

Hanalei is another brand that I had not heard of prior to this Ipsy bag. The lip treatment is perfect if your lips get dry and cracked in colder weather. It is also great to put on just before going to bed so that your lips stay moisturized while you sleep. Anyone who knows me personally can tell you that I am obsessed with having soft lips. I always have at least one lip product with me and this product is small enough to toss in my pocket and go if need be.

City Color Be Matte Blush – $3.99 (Individuals)

Anyone who knows me also knows that I love a good blush. If I don’t wear anything else I will at least have on blush, mascara, and/or  a chapstick or lipstick. These blushes are okay. I was a little disappointed in the shade selection because only one of the three shades compliments my skin. Never-the-less, it is nice to get to try out a new brand. The one shade that works is a great everyday color, which is nice for days that I want a more subdued look.

I hope you all enjoyed this type of post. I love getting my ipsy bags each month and I had a lot of fun putting together this blog post to share what I got with yall. Until next time…
